Embark on a 3-Day Arctic Adventure: From Aurora Hunts to the Edge of the World
Prepare for an unforgettable journey into the Russian Arctic. We will chase the magical Aurora Borealis across the tundra, hunting for the elusive lights under the starry sky. We will explore the dramatic coastline of the Arctic Ocean in the legendary village of Teriberka, capturing stunning photos of ship graveyards and unique stone beaches. We will feel the powerful breath of the Barents Sea and witness its breathtaking raw beauty. Finally, we will immerse ourselves in the ancient culture of the Sami people, where we will meet friendly reindeer and huskies and learn about timeless traditions. This tour is a perfect blend of natural wonder, cultural discovery, and pure Arctic magic, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
What you will see in the tour
The tour program
On arrival our driver will meet you at the airport with a sign and take you to the hotel to check-in. You will have free time till the evening.
The team of Northern lights hunters will be preparing the route of hunting to find a location where Aurora Borealis immersion is most likely.
At about 9 p.m., we will pick you up from your address and return back after the hunt. The trip lasts 3-5 hours. The result depends on sky conditions and magnetic activity. We aim for a cloudless sky and high magnetic activity, sometimes driving 150 kilometers from Murmansk to find the lights.
If the sky is clear, it will take about 40 kilometers to reach the best spot.
There is hot tea and cookies on a trip. Hot tea and cookies are provided during the trip.
We take photos and videos with professional cameras. You will get them the next day.
Hunting is possible from September to April.
Choose bright colours for your outfit as night photos look best with vibrant colors!
In the morning we will go to Teriberka village - one of the oldest fishing settlements in Murmansk region. The village is located right on the shore of the Barents Sea – a part of the Arctic Ocean.
You will take spectacular photos in the most famous places such as:
- Old Ships Graveyard
- Dragon's eggs beach
- Frozen Waterfall
- Red rocks
- Giant Swing
- Famous traveler’s bench
This day you may add whales’ watching for extra charge (better in advance).
We will have lunch at a restaurant at the sand beach of the Barents Sea (for extra charge).
After the program we will arrive at the hotel in Murmansk at about 19:00.
There you will:
- get to know about the culture and life of the ancient northern people, which have been existing there for almost 3000 years.
- take pictures and feed reindeer. If there is enough snow (end of October) you will manage to go reindeer and husky sledding.
- try on traditional Sami costumes.
- have lunch in a wooden house. You will be treated with local cuisine.
After lunch you may walk around the Park, and then we will take you to the airport or to Murmansk if your departure is planned for this day.
* Husky and reindeer sledding is possible from about the end of October if there is enough snow. Not included in the program.
